Concept Art

Once we’ve established the theme of our project, the search for style and aesthetic begun.

I have begun collecting visual references for gothic and (late) medieval architecture. It covered obvious elements such as windows and fixtures but has also included textures like wood grain or plaster walls.

From the time it has taken to draw concept art, we have quickly realised that it was impossible to hand draw every element of the game. Our attention shifted towards streamlining the process. We have picked two quicker ways to produce assets. One being a 3D (Unreal Engine) for modular building to create the tower and its layout, while the other being simple photobashing. Since one has to use preexisting work for photobashing, we were concerned about copyright infringement. This is when we have discovered that our university license for Adobe products covers the Adobe stock platform.
